About
Growing up north of Toronto in Orillia, Kaitlin began taking guitar lessons at 14 and started teaching herself chords of her favourite songs. Soon she started writing her own songs, playing at local farmers markets and open mics, and posting cover videos on YouTube (yes, they’re still up). In high school, her and a few friends got together and wrote and recorded original songs for a compilation CD to raise money for Free the Children. Then eventually moving to Toronto for university, she formed a long-distance band with her friend in Ottawa, the pair released an EP and a music video. Being in a new city, meeting new people and jamming at rehearsal spaces, her love for music and songwriting has never died.
Now, after years of photobooth videos (that have never seen the light of day) and countless covers she is ready to start a solo project and release her own original songs. Her music is often reflective of her empathetic nature and is thoughtful and cathartic.
